Selectivity

Healthy-tissue selectivity-the control arm that defines a therapeutic window.

Agemica measures selectivity against healthy tissue because a candidate that kills cancer without a therapeutic window is not a medicine, regardless of its computational score.

Why this matters

Selectivity is the difference between a drug and a poison.

Cell death in cancer cell models is not a complete safety story. The selectivity arm of the program runs in parallel - same compounds, same conditions - on healthy fibroblasts.

  • Same conditions - selectivity runs alongside the cancer arm, identical assay format.
  • Healthy substrate - primary human skin fibroblasts as the negative control.
  • What we observed - no cell death in healthy controls under reported conditions.
  • What it does not prove - broader human safety. That work is the job of preclinical and clinical studies.
